NO! The end of the world is not here.

NO! Armageddon has not arrived.

NO! The Book of Revelation is not playing out before our eyes.

While it may seem to many that the current situation with the COVID-19 virus is straight from the Biblical playbook, and portends the end of everything, let me assure you that it is not.

How do I know? Because the Bible tells me so.

Beginning in chapter 5 of Revelation and going on to chapter 19 is a period of time that is referred to by many names in scripture. Isaiah, Ezekiel, Amos, Obadiah, Zephaniah, Zechariah and Malachi all call it the day of the Lord. Joel refers to it as the "great and terrible day of the Lord" and a "day of destruction". Amos says it is a "day of darkness, not of light".

In the New Testament, it is referred to as the "day of Christ", a "day of wrath", a time of judgment and salvation, a period of tribulation and "great tribulation". Rev. 6:17 specifically says that this period is " the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?"

So what is it in scripture that we can find to tell us whether this day is now or not?

Some 2,000 years ago, Paul was faced with much the same problem when his friends in Thessalonica were trembling in fear, because some false prophets had come through town proclaiming that the "day of the Lord" was already past. Paul wrote to them, and said "Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;" 2 Thess. 2:1-3

Paul emphasizes that we should not be deceived by anything that anyone says because we have two BENCHMARK events that MUST come to pass BEFORE the Day of the Lord hits this world.

Number one is the apostasy, or great falling away, a period of time when multitudes of "professing" christians turn away from the faith. Let me emphasize that just because someone says they are christian, just because they go to church, or have been baptized, or do good works, or they are a deacon, bishop, elder, preacher, prophet, apostle, teacher or pastor does NOT mean they are truly a CHRISTIAN. That there should be people like this among us is of no wonder, for all of the New Testament writers warned us of such.

While many through the ages have postulated that the "great falling away" had come, it is my opinion that we have actually arrived at that time, for not a day goes by that we do not see or hear of some denomination or "popular" preacher or singer leaving the true faith and renouncing their beliefs.

That leaves us with benchmark number two, which Paul emphasized MUST happen before the Day of the Lord can arrive. That is the revelation of the person most Christians refer to as the "Anti-Christ". Daniel warned us about him. Jesus warned us about him. Paul, Peter, & John warned us about him. This is a man, flesh and blood, who will rise to such a position of power as to be able to literally control the nations, economies and militaries of the world system.

How is he going to be revealed? We have only one clue, found in scripture in the Book of Daniel.

Daniel 7:23-25 is the first breadcrumb leading us to this person, and what he does. Daniel 8:11 is the second breadcrumb in the trail, and 8:23 is the third. I earnestly suggest that you take the time to read these scriptures in their entirety.

Daniel 11:21-23 then gets down to the business of pinpointing what this person is like, and WHAT HE DOES that tells us HOW he will be revealed to the world.

"And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant. And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people."

Daniel 9:27 specifies the event as the signing of a covenant, or peace treaty with Israel guaranteeing 7 years of peace and safety.

While there are many who have been working towards a peace accord involving Israel and the Arabs for many years, there has not as yet been a singular treaty that fits the scriptural definition. This does not mean that such an event is not close at hand. The current state of events, worldwide, could easily set the stage for an individual to rise to a position of prominence and control, but we're not there - quite yet.

I'll leave you with the same words that Paul used to the Thessalonians; "Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or (this) epistle. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work."

The Garden Conspiracy

"He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it" John 8:44

Satan's modus operandi began in the Garden of Eden, and he has consistently used it ever since. Come with us as we take a look at how he operated then and now, so that "Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices." 2Cor 2:11

The Garden Conspiracy is a short book (only 7 chapters) detailing how satan works by using Christian pastors, teachers and "prophets" to corrupt the Word of God, and introduce doctrinal errors, snares and heresies into the Christian community.
